Brazilian Pennywort - Hydrocotyle leucocephala

Pennywort is a super versatile plant that’s not only robust but can be utilized in a number of different ways for aquascapers of all levels. Whether it’s placed as a midground or background plant or simply just floating, it grows well and adapts to varying conditions. For the biotope aquascape here at Hakkai Aquascape Gallery, we have attached it right at the surface level and draped right over one of the manzanita branches. When placed this way, it tends to grow toward the light source and will eventually creep its way throughout the branch and many times it will even creep quite a distance outside of the tank as it adapts well to emersed conditions.
