UNS Controsoil Black is a Japanese aquarium soil made from natural soil and volcanic ash. It releases little ammonia, buffers water to a slightly acidic pH and softens hardness, which suits planted tanks, shrimp and most tropical fish. No rinsing needed.
- Extra Fine (~1 mm): nano tanks and carpeting plants
- Fine (~3 mm): all-purpose
- Normal (~5 mm): larger tanks and heavy root feeders
Rule of thumb: (length Ă— width Ă— depth in inches) Ă· 60 = liters needed.
